HI Everyone! It’s a pleasure to be back at the writing board as one of my actual dreams is to one day write a book. So of course writing these blogs to our EnglishSmart community helps me to “get my feet wet.” I was “racking my brain”, thinking; what should I write about to almost close up the year. As I recently participated in a course given by one of my favorite 2021 authors; Jim Kwik, called “Kwik Confidence,” I decided why not share some of the amazing tools he shared with us in this course. As Jim mentions in his book “Limitless;” One of the greatest ways to remember things is by teaching others. So if you haven’t read this book yet, I would definitely encourage you to put it on your 2022 Book List. Moreover, if you have never created a book list, what a great time to start! As they say: “there’s no time like the present.”

“There are hurricanes and earthquakes and…,” said my dad. “Dad, I am going! I got my scholarship and this is an incredible opportunity for me.” I replied. “But the drug trafficking kills so many people and what about femicides, Cris?” He answered. “It's okay dad, everything is going to be okay and nothing bad will happen.” I promised...

Have you ever met someone you can trust? A person who will never judge you… Well, that happened to me last year. When I arrived here to Queretaro, I was a little nervous because I was about to start a new life in a new city, you know, new school and new friends. I found an excellent English school and I started training soccer, everything was perfect until the pandemic arrived. No one could go out, it was totally forbidden...

During July we experienced a sporty hurricane called Tokyo 2020, and it is quite impressive how it seems that business and sports are worlds apart, when in reality both have a lot of things in common, more than people could ever imagine. Behind each gold medal won in Tokyo, I am convinced that there is a great story of hard work during a whole lifetime. Exactly the same is true for companies, as there is a big story behind each successful company in the world...

For the last year, due to the pandemic, people have picked up new hobbies and some others have actually shown interest in different topics that without extra time to kill they probably wouldn’t have discovered. I’m part of the club...

Have you ever stopped to think that each person is as unique as a puzzle? Each human being is composed of pieces of personality, life experiences, knowledge, and emotions, every one of these helps us develop our own perspective and view of the world. It's amazing to think how out of the 7 billion people that exist in the world there is only one of us. So what makes us unique?

2020 was a challenging year to say the least. The entire world experienced a pandemic that forever changed our lives. What started as a 2 week confinement at home turned into a year of an endless quarantine that forced companies and schools to rethink how to continue operating.

As we all know, judging people in general, is not something we’re looking forward to since our first thought when being judged is “that’s wrong because it hurts me”. But first, let’s find out why we start judging others.

I am very pleased to share with you all our first blog for 2021, which was written by one of our very own students Pedro Martin Gomez and edited by Miss Dani. This is an opportunity not only for our students to continue to become more involved with their English acquisition, but also for all of our readers to see how well our students are advancing in their language skills.

Constantly, we hear that going out and spending some time outside is good for our body and our mind. It’s been known that the Taj Mahal was built to immortalize Shah Jahan’s wife but also, this beautiful garden serves as a sanctuary to escape from the stress of life. And it is not just the Taj Mahal, but in many books, it has been said that nature goes with the gift of freedom. As plants, the human body needs the chemical properties of the sun to function well, but not only that, being outside in direct contact with the sunlight could help improve your mood.
